Rooms, Layout and Capacity
Room 1
Holds around 25 people lecture style, reducing to around 20 if sat at tables. There is an upright Piano, whiteboard, and projection screen in this room.
Room 2
Holds around 25 people lecture style, reducing to around 20 if sat at tables. There is a whiteboard and projection screen in this room.
Room 3
Holds around 15 people lecture style, reducing to around 10 if sat at tables. This room is a good size and shape for committee meetings around a large table. Again 10-15 people. There is a whiteboard and projection screen in this room.
Lounge
Holds around 30 people for an informal meeting or cafe style around tables. A hatch allows standing access to Kitchen adjacent. Access also to one end of the Hall via 3 steps. Lounge is not easy to access in a wheelchair as it is a few steps down from the main level of our building. (A portable ramp is available).
Main Hall
Holds 60+ for a sit-down meal, more for a meeting or lecture. The Hall can be divided into two halves each holding around 45 people lecture style. There are two projection screens in this room. One end gives access to Lounge and Stage. One end gives access to Church. A hatch allows standing access to the kitchen adjacent.
Stage
The stage can be available for amateur drama rehearsals, but may need to be booked with at least half the Hall to allow access.
Church
The Sanctuary / Worship Area can be available for Concerts and other musical events. We have a Baby Grand Piano and a Two Manual Pipe Organ in the Church. There is seating for around 150, increasing to 200. More people can be accommodated by opening up into the Hall, to give a capacity of around 500 people seated, most of whom will have an uninterrupted view.
Kitchen / Catering
The kitchen is fully equipped with all that you should require for light refreshments, or meals for up to 60 people. Hirers need to provide their own consumables. (Tea/Coffee/Milk/Biscuits). There is a small shared fridge but no freezer. There is a large industrial stove and an industrial dishwasher which takes about 15 minutes per cycle. There is a large area of worktop, twin sinks with drainers, plus a hand wash basin. There are independent hatches to allow serving into the Lounge and/or Hall.
Technology
We do not provide a laptop or projector. Projector stands, screens and cables are available for your use if required. Rooms have curtains. Wi-Fi is available by prior agreement, and an access code will be provided if requested.
Methodist Regulations
Please note that for any bookings Methodist regulations prevent the holding of any raffles, and also bans any alcohol on the premises.
