The address of the church is, Maidenburgh Street, Colchester CO1 1TT.
Maidenburgh Street is located at the lower end of the High Street and is a narrow street between the British Heart Foundation shop and the Conservative Club and the newsagents shop located on the ground floor of that building.

Located next to the world famous Colchester Castle, Castle Methodist Church is built on a site which was originally occupied by the 'great round meeting house', built at the time that John Wesley was travelling round the country, forming societies and preaching. He visited Colchester on a number of occasions and preached in the 'great round meeting house'. The pulpit used by him survives and is on display in the church.

The present building was brought into use in 1970 when the existing site at Culver Street was taken over by developers. British Home Stores now occupies the Culver Street site.
