Our own minister Rev Alan Jenkins has returned to us after a year’s absence due to ill health. We are all very glad to welcome him back to us. He led our morning communion service.
He spoke to the children about seaside holidays and the pleasure of making sandcastles. They were reminded that however large or small the sandcastle they build it will be washed away when the tide comes in. But then there is fresh sand to use again to try to build a better sandcastle the following day.
Later Alan spoke to the adults about being Invited to the Table. To demonstrate the reading that we had just heard from Luke 14, he brought folk from the back of the church to sit at the front. He talked about the inclusivity of being a Christian and being part of God’s table.
